Vogue Parody: 73 Questions about Me

I am certain that most of you are familiar with the vogue format of asking 73 questions to celebrities. This is nothing different, except it is meant for bloggers, who will have to answer the 73 questions that are asked. I was recently nominated byJordyn from The Chronically Unimaginable and Time to Talk for this challenge and feel very happy and honoured to be taking part in this. Thank you so much for nominating me, I really enjoy reading both of your blogs and I hope you keep up the amazing work.

The rules to this challenge are quite straightforward; answer all the questions (they are the same for everyone), nominate 12 other bloggers and display the rules on the blog.

So, without further do, here we go:

1. What is your favourite Starbucks order?

I am not that much of a coffee drinker, to be honest, so I only have a limited choice. I used to order the Mango-Passionfruit Frappucino a lot, but apparently, they don’t have it anymore (at least in the Starbucks I usually go to). That’s really sad actually.

2. What does your workstation look right now?

Messier than it should, considering that I will go on holiday soon and still have to pack all my stuff. I am using my bed as a working station right now, because there is just no space on my desk.

3. All-time favourite food?

It has to be raclette, but I have said this before: I love all food. For those people who don’t know what raclette is: You have a mini pan that you fill with potatoes, onions, mushrooms and cheese (or basically anything you like) and put it into some kind of oven that sits on the table. The cheese starts melting at some point and when it’s ready you can take it out and prepare the next portion. Needless to say that this really is some addicting food.

4. Favourite author?

Why do they always have these impossible questions? I think I would say John Green and Rainbow Rowell, if you force me, but there are so many amazing authors out there that deserve more recognition.

5. What do you think of open relationships?

Nope, really not my thing. I am open minded generally, so I really don’t bother whether anyone does it. Have as many partners as you would like, if that’s your thing, but for myself I really want to be in a relationship with just one person.

6. What is your favourite video game?

Prepare for a shocker: I never really played any video games, since we did not have a gaming console at home. My parents strictly forbid it. However, that did not stop me from playing Mario Cart for days on end on school trips when my friends lent their Nintendos to me.

7. Guilty Pleasure treat?

Anything sweet or salty, really. It also depends on my mood, but chocolate is one of the top choices of course. If I have any kind of sweet or salty snack, you better don’t ask me to share it when I am in a bad mood. Things then can get very dangerous, very quickly XD.

8. Favourite movie?

Okay, they really have to stop doing this. I am the worst at picking favourites. I will just put Pride and Prejudice, Leap Year and The Greatest Showman. And all of the Marvel Movies of course.

9. Favourite book?

I hope you can see me virtually rolling my eyes and scraping my face, screaming “I CANNOT POSSIBLY CHOOSE!” I have put several books the last time I had to answer this question, but this time I will do the same as Jordyn and instead just name what I am reading now. It’s “Becoming” by Michelle Obama. It’s a great biography and before this, I never thought I would read one, but damn this is some great stuff.

10. Twitter or Instagram?

It used to be Instagram for me, but since I have started blogging, I much prefer Twitter. There is just more human interaction and I find it a lot easier to use. Also, I am not really good at taking and editing pictures… In addition Instagram basically drives no-one to my blog, so it is pretty much useless to me.

11. Desktop or laptop?

Definitely laptop. It is so much more convenient when you can just whip out your computer anywhere and type away whatever thought you were having.

12. Best advice you have ever received?

I guess it would be two notions I was raised with: “Focus on the things that you can influence instead of those which you have no power over” (also, know the difference between these two) and “Leaving your comfort zone will make you grow”. I am really thankful that I was taught these things very early in life, even though I am still having a hard time leaving my comfort zone. I wrote a whole post about useful advice that I have received, you can find it here.

13. What project are you working on right now?

Since I am already done with Uni for this summer, I have a lot of free time. This usually ends up in me starting a ton of different projects. What can I say, it is no different this time. I cannot remember a single occasion in which I had several posts already scheduled and even more already in the line. Recently I came up with two bigger projects, one of them being the “My Mental Illness and Me” series. I am doing a lot more for my Titter and Pinterest recently. It’s just so sad to know that I won’t be able to keep this up after the summer is over.

14. Favourite colour?

A bright green, turquoise or burgundy red.

15. Did you get good grades at school?

Yes, I did. Sometimes it was some kind of a burden, because everyone expected so much of me, so I felt even more pressured than already. However, I really liked my time in high school. Especially the last two years. They were really exhausting, but also extremely fun. Now at Uni, I really miss my teachers and the rather close relationship they used to have with us students. Now everything is just so anonymous and I realised how small I was compared to everyone else.

16. Dream job?

Quite a bummer, but I never really had one. I can see myself in a range of different positions and jobs, so I will just see where life takes me. I have a lot of other dreams though (not related to my career) which you can find here.

17. Played any sports?

Yes. But so many different ones. I never seemed able to just pick one and stick with it. In my childhood I did everything from gymnastics over table tennis to tennis and swimming. At a later age I started rowing in my school rowing club, which I stuck with until I left school. Now I am not really doing anything, but sometimes I like to go climbing. I really should be doing more though, the lazy part of my brain is speaking way too much to me recently.

18. Do you have a degree?

Not yet but I am most certainly working on it. Two more years (if everything goes well) and I will have a Bachelor of Science in Economics. I am already looking forward to it, but it will be a long way plastered with a lot of work.

19. Nationality?

I don’t think I have ever disclosed this on my blog before, so big revelation: I am German (some of you have probably guessed it before), but I study abroad, so technically I live in two different places. It’s funny, because abroad you are confronted a lot more with your nationality than in your home country. I am hearing jokes based on nationalities and clichés here every day. And to be honest, it can be quite fun to see how accurate some assumptions are, even if you don’t want to admit it.

20. What is your favourite kind of blog post to do?

Those who just flow out of me. I like it when I have an idea and then I start writing and new aspects just keep coming; connecting all the points and thinking about new things constantly can be a bit exhausting, because I never want to forget one of the quick thoughts I had, but if I am being honest, I also enjoy that. That was a really long sentence, but I am going to keep it.

21. What do you like to collect?

Books. It’s definitely books. Without question or second thought. I wish I could have a library one day.

22. Describe yourself in three words.

Ambitious, curious and honest. I really hope this is accurate, but I think it is. I honestly cannot lie. I keep being told that I am too transparent and that you can practically read anything on my face…

23. If you were a rapper, what would your rapper name be?

I am not very fond of rap to be honest, so I have literally no clue what to put here. The internet suggests “Nadi Cheeks”. I have no idea what so say to that… It just sounds horrible, can we please move on?

24. Who was the last person you DM’d?

Lozza from Girly Gabble on twitter.

25. What is on top of your wish list right now?

Well, a ton of books of course. But I would also like to meet up with a few friends that I haven’t seen in a while. And I hope that my grandpa will be okay soon.

26. Sorting House?

I am a Slytherin. I think I have never ever in my life taken a quiz that said anything different from that. However, people keep suggesting that I might be a Ravenclaw as well.

27. How many tattoos do you have?

None… yet. I am definitely planning on getting at least one. I am thinking about something water-coloured maybe. I could also imagine to just to start with something delicate and small next to my ankle… We will see.

28. What are you most grateful for this year?

There is a lot of stuff I am super grateful for. I really am thankful for all the lovely support my family, friends and boyfriend have given me so far. Not only considering Uni, but also everything else. I am thankful that I am well and healthy, and I really appreciate the fact that I can use my blog as a creative outlet.

29. What is the best thing that has happened to you this month?

For June: Definitely my trip to Amsterdam with my boyfriend to see his brother and my belated birthday party at the beginning of the month. But I also was really happy to finally receive grades at Uni that reflected how much I had studied before.

For July: We are only in a few weeks, but I would say meeting up with all my friends and visiting my grandfather.

30. What’s the best thing that has happened to you today?

It’s 7 in the morning when I am writing this, so there is not much to choose from yet. I could put the birds chirping in here though. And that I can hear my family getting up while still staying in bed.

31. What’s the best thing ever?

Unexpected small moments that turn out to be absolutely amazing. Also, doing something you have been afraid of and then nailing it.

32. Favourite season?

Definitely spring. I have no idea why so many people say autumn. The only thing I connect with that particular season is very rainy and cold weather and a lot of exhausting work for Uni. I much prefer any of the other seasons. Spring has to be the best, because then the sun slowly comes out and all the flowers begin to bloom. Not the best for my allergies, but that does not make it any less beautiful.

33. Favourite fictional animal?

Dragons. They are so majestic and powerful. I mean how cool is it that they can fly and breathe fire? I would definitely be up for a ride.

34. What fictional character do you relate to the most?

I would love to say Sherlock Holmes, but I fear that this would not be accurate, as I am usually a polite person and really not that smart. I do like correcting people though. And sometimes I can come across a little arrogant I guess… My problem is, I don’t have any other ideas for this one, so I will have to leave it at that.

35. Do you like surprises?

It depends on the surprise, really. It should be a pleasant one, where the person making the surprise knows that I would enjoy it. I don’t receive a lot of surprises, since my everyday life is very well planned out, so I guess I would like to have one once in a while. It would be really refreshing, I imagine.

36. What is the biggest surprise you have ever had?

See, this is a problem now, because I cannot remember any big surprises I have had in my life. Also, not many small ones… The only thing I can think of now is my mom saying yes spontaneously when I asked whether a friend could stay for a sleepover (my friend was already at my place, but the sleepover wasn’t planned initially). I did not expect her at all to agree to my request, but for some reason she did and I was pleasantly surprised. In addition, I love when people unexpectedly call me.

37. What is a surprise that made you cry?

Well let’s see. I guess I cried when I figured out, I had passed my maths exam this year, because I was really sure that I had not, but apart from that I can’t really remember anything.

38. What is the best surprise you have ever given someone?

This might be the reason why I don’t receive any surprises. I don’t make a lot of them myself. If I think of it now, maybe spontaneously calling my grandma or showing her that I was writing a blog. She really is an avid reader and I am pretty sure that she will end up reading this as well. So, greetings to you grandma.

39. Do you like muffins?

Yes, of course. It’s food. Also, it’s unhealthy sweet foot, when having a bad day, I could probably eat an entire plate of muffins. And again, NADINE DOESN’T SHARE FOOD!

40. Do you cook often?

When I am by myself, nearly never. When I am with my boyfriend, almost always. I think cooking together is always much more fun than pathetically standing in front of the stove alone, waiting for your food to be ready… Just let me shove it inside me already.

41. What is your favourite dessert?

A chocolate tarte with a liquid core and vanilla ice cream. Bonus points if there is a little bit of a fruit sauce for decoration. Oh wow, this is a horrible question, because now I am craving this. Let’s quickly move on, so I don’t suffer too much.

42. Is there a dessert you don’t like?

I am not much of a Crème Brulee fan, but anything else will just be up my alley.

43. Cake or pie?

I don’t really have a preference. As long as it is sweet and tastes good, I don’t mind. I love a good fruity pie, but I would die equally as much for a chocolate cake.

44. What’s your least favourite food?

Does liquorice count as food? If not, I am going with savoy cabbage. Hate that stuff.

45. What is your favourite condiment?

I had to google first what this means and then I realised why: Because I never use any. Spices really aren’t my thing and salt and pepper is probably the most advanced I have ever gone. However, I guess curry isn’t too bad.

46. It’s 4 am on a Saturday night, what would you eat?

Apart from that I would never be up at that time, I think it would be anything my kitchen offers. Can we please stop talking about food now? I just had breakfast and I am already getting hungry again.

47. If you could teach a college class, what would it be called?

“The art of appearing sane when a stranger starts talking about something you are obsessed with.”

48. Best animated film?

I don’t watch a lot of animated films, but I remember that I loved Ice Age when I was a kid.

49. What has a guy (or girl) done or said to impress you?

Puhhh, that is something I need to think about for a while. I will come back to this later… Okay so I think I found something. In sixth grade a guy made me a crocodile out of pearls and wire. I guess that was actually kind of cute. If this wasn’t meant in a dating sense, I would say that my brother keeps doing stuff t2hat surprises me. I have no idea how he does it, since I thought I already knew him just too well, but he keeps doing stuff that I wasn’t expecting.

50. The best thing to do on a date?

I have been on a few quiet dates with lovely surroundings. I also really like going out into nature. Nevertheless, I am still waiting for the day where my boyfriend takes me out on an adventurous date, e.g. a fun park or concert. I would love to try that at least once and see if I like it (I most certainly will).

51. The worst thing to do on a date?

Someone who does not speak, so an awkward silence spreads and just everyone being uncomfortable. If you know the other person quite well already, having silence once in a while isn’t a bad thing, but I guess on the first date it might be very uncomfortable.

52. What is the funniest pick up line a guy/girl could use on a guy/girl?

Of course, I had to google this, because how in the world would I know any pick-up lines. “You are hotter than the bottom of my laptop” really made me laugh, but I would even prefer “If Internet Explorer is brave enough to ask you to be your default browser, I’m brave enough to ask you out!”

53. Best comic book character?

Do you remember Asterix and Obelix? I read all the comic books as a child and I just loved how random Obelix was sometimes. Even though I would be more like Asterix, I liked Obelix better. He was always really funny. I also read Donald Duck comics as a child, but I did not develop any preferences for characters.

54. What are three things that are always in your purse?

Since I cannot handle purses or handbags at all and I think they are really impractical, I always use a backpack. Apart from my wallet and keys, there will always be pads, earplugs and a laptop adapter.

55. Favourite drink?

Well, for alcoholic drinks that would be a Pina Colada or Mojito (yeah I am into cocktails a lot). For non-alcoholic I would go for water and smoothies.

56. If you could play a historical character, who would it be?

I am really not that informed regarding this topic, I have no clue what stuff happened when in history, but I guess I would like to play any of the kings/queens of Great Britain. Playing William Shakespeare also might be fun, and I most certainly would enjoy playing Julius Caesar XD.

57. Kittens or puppies?

Puppies? I am honestly not sure myself. I hate this question…

58. Favourite sushi roll?

No clue what it’s called, but the one with mango and avocado. I just love when it is a mixture of hearty and sweet. But seriously, I love all sushi.

59. What kind of lipstick do you use?

None. Like literally none. Never have, never will. I just think it feels super awkward and looks weird on my face. The most advanced I have ever done was lip balm. And in the future, I will be going no further.

60. What kind of foundation do you use?

Please don’t tell me this is turning into a makeup question marathon now, because for me it will be the same answers all along. I don’t wear makeup. I am far too lazy to put effort into something that I will wipe off in the evening anyways. I like when people are really into this and most of the time it looks really beautiful (only on other people though), but I am just lazy af.

61. Blow dry or air dry?

Air dry. Again, I am lazy XD. Also, in summer it is simply unpleasant to blow even more hot air into your face. If I am blow drying, it is in winter when it’s cold outside and I don’t want to get ill.

62. Who is your fashion icon?

It’s the same as with make-up. I don’t have a fashion icon and I probably never will. I don’t really pay a lot of attention to what I am wearing. As long as it fits and doesn’t look too horrible, I don’t mind. Sometimes I do wish though that I had a little more fashion sense. Especially for formal or festive activities. I always feel underdressed.

63. Favourite Disney Character?

This might be disappointing to hear, but I never really was into Disney to be honest. As a child I simply did not watch any of the movies and even when I was older, I could not get into it. I did watch the Lion King and I really enjoyed it, but I could never befriend with the princess section of Disney.

64. What are you doing tomorrow?

Probably writing more stuff for my blog, now that I finally have the time. I might also meet up with some friends, we will see what happens. I am very happy that I don’t really have to make plans now and can actually be a bit spontaneous (yeah I know, it’s a nice joke).

65. Movie you laughed the hardest through?

It is very easy to make me laugh. If this question was about series’ I would put Friends and Miranda. When it comes to comedy movies, I love French comedies the most. I really enjoyed “The Intouchables”, “Monsieur Claude and his Daughters” and “Serial (Bad) Weddings”.

66. Movie that made you cry?

Basically, every movie I have ever seen. I cry very easily when watching movies. There only needs to be one little cute scene and I am done. The last two movies where I cried the hardest were probably Infinity War and Endgame. But I mean, whoever managed to watch these without crying has no soul.

67. If you could sing a duet with someone, who would it be?

If it has to be a professional singer, who pursues this as a career, I would go with Brendon Urie. If it can be any famous person that can sing well, I would choose Tom Ellis. And if it could be any person, I would choose one of my friends that likes singing.

68. If your life was a song, what would the title be?

I see, I need to be very creative for this one. Let’s see what I can come up with… What about “Finding My Way” or “Unsurprisingly Average”?

69. Favourite animal?

Uhhhhm… Very hard to choose. I would say tigers, dolphins and eagles belong to my favourite animals. Hedgehogs are also pretty cute…

70. The person you would want to have coffee with?

Obviously no coffee for me, but I would love to meet up with Tom Ellis or Benedict Cumberbatch and have a great conversation about anything that does not involve acting. I really would like to talk about political topics or societal issues. They have to answer questions related to acting all the time anyways, so I would much rather like discussing a different topic. If this question was not meant in a celebrity kind of way, I would also love to meet my deceased grandfather, because I never met him and would like to know what he is like.

71. Favourite illustrator?

I can’t answer this question, because I simply don’t know any. I do like looking at illustrations though.

72. What’s the country you wish to visit?

I have a whole list. Australia, the United States, Sweden, South Africa, Canada, Indonesia, Peru and Egypt are just a few of them.

73. Best way to decompress?

Reading a good book, listening to music or watching a series/film.

I sincerely hope that I haven’t bored you to death by this point. I hope you enjoyed reading this at least a little bit, because I most certainly had a lot of fun answering those questions. I would love to hear what my nominees’ answers are, so here we go:

1. In Mint Nutrition

2. Kari Watterson

3. Mary Beth Estes

4. When An Introvert Speaks

5. Finding the Fearless Life

6. ablondeinthecrowd

7. All Things Gee

8. Pages, Places and Plates

9. Sunny Larue

10. Some kind of 50

11. The Mindberg

12. Mind and Love

I wish you a lot of fun with this challenge (imagine an ironic tone here). You have a lot of work to do XD, but you can take all the time to need. I am looking forward to reading all your responses. Hope to see you back on my blog soon.

  1. Really interesting to read more about you.
What a list of Q’s- pretty comprehensive! I’m gonna have to use the power of 10 tigers to answer some of them- should be fun!
Thanks for sharing and for the nomination.

  2. Guten morgen! Sorry, my German is limited. I lasted only a couple weeks in my German class in college before realizing I was way out of my league.

A very fun read and nice to get to know more about you!
